Configure your website logo, summary and introductory message from within the web administration panel. Changing the overall layout is as simple as editing a plain HTML document. HTML data is separated in logical .tpl files which contain simple tags that can be moved and customized in a text-editor. Integrating widgets and other HTML snippets requires no more effort than a simple cut & paste. The default design is flexible and allows for modification through .CSS stylesheets.

RSS feeds are an alternative medium that help to grow and expand a reliable user base. Feeds are automatically created and generated by phpMDB. Not only are live updating feeds generated for new and popular submissions, but all genres created within the web administration panel also include their own dedicated RSS feed. There's no need to configure the feeds for each category - phpMDB does it all for you.

The phpMDB template has built in hooks for AdSense integration. Simply enter your publisher ID within the web administration panel, press submit, and your phpMDB system will take care of the rest. Advanced users can manually edit the template for extra customization.

Create administrators, moderators and suspend or ban troublesome users.

phpMDB supports multiple permission levels, including 'moderator' status. This allows a user to manually verify submissions and manage other simple aspects of the system, taking the load off the webmaster. It is also possible to promote users to the administrator level for full system access. Troublesome users can be suspended - which allows access to album download links but prevents submissions and comments, or banned - which denies access to your website entirely.

Reduce unwanted spam and bot messages.

Many blogs, forums and other "Web 2.0" systems fall victim to massive amounts of spam messages automatically generated by bot systems. phpMDB features advanced CAPTCHA (image verification) integration which limits the ability of automated spamming systems. The image verification can be enabled or disabled from within the web administration panel, and the image complexity can be adjusted from a scale of one to ten. Upload extra fonts to increase the uniqueness of your image verification system to further protect your website from spam.

Modify the source code to suit your needs.

A common anti-piracy measure is to encrypt the source code of interpreted scripts like PHP. phpMDB is not encrypted, leaving you free to modify the source code. Additionally, the "one license per domain" system is built on an honesty system. If you want to switch domains, all you need to do is reinstall the script at the new domain and log in to the scriptEngines member panel to update your domains list.
